Memorial Fund for Brandon S.

We were reminded just how quickly life can change when suddenly on Aug 10th 2024 our family lost a very bright shining light. The loss of Brandon came not only unexpectedly but has also left an expediential wound in our family. If you knew Brandon on any level you can vouch for how charismatic, loving, kind, and FUNNY he was. Quite literally to know him, was to love him! He had a special light in him that we will all miss, his quirky thought process and ability to turn almost any situation into a laugh fest is unmatched, he loved with his whole being and anyone around him could feel that. He was a “brother” to so many and everyone felt like family around him.

The loss of Brandon impacts so many of us deeply from his children to extended family and friends. Unfortunately what we are facing is not what anyone should be in a time of loss. With no life insurance the family is left to figure out how to financially manage. Any money generated by the Go fund me will go directly to the memorial fund to help support his spouse Brittany, as she will be faced with having uproot her entire life and everything they had together. She has to move from the home they shared and will be off work due to everything that has happened. Any remaining funds will be put towards helping the children. The last thing she should have to worry about while mourning Brandon; is the loss of income and settling any debts he had, not to mention having anything to pass on financially to his children.

We hate to be in the situation to be reaching out asking for help but that is the reality we have been faced with. Brandon deserves to be commemorated and celebrated. The outpouring of love and supportive messages the family has gotten from his friends speaks to who he was, his character and just how loved he was by all who were in his life. The family has shared many stories over the last couple days of Brandon and what he was like growing up, from awkward stages to his eclectic choice of favourite musicians and bands, just his overall love of music, there have been many funny everlasting moments shared as well. He was such a force to be around and had no issue with being able to laugh at himself but would also be the first to offer support, a listening ear and even quite literally giving the shirt off his back. While we hate to ask, we are honestly in a position where we have no choice in order to be able to cover what needs to be covered so his family doesn’t have to hold the financial burden while navigating the grief of such a substantial loss at this time; any amount no matter how big or small will help <3

Arrangements have been made for Brandon’s Celebration of life. It will be held August 31st 4pm-8pm at the Collingwood leisure time club followed by a lantern release at the water here where he loved to spend time. It will be a potluck as Brandon loved food so if you could bring something that Brandon loved that would be much appreciated. Brittany has asked to have everyone wear a band t-shirt as a way to share your love for Brandon.
