Egg Freezing
Donation protected
My name is Kimberly. I am a 29 year old preschool teacher. In 2012, I was diagnosed with a condition called endometriosis through a surgery called a cystectomy. I had a 9cm cyst on my right ovary. When it was removed, a portion of my right Fallopian tube was lost. 7 years later, I am having the same issue, this time on the left side. I have an 8cm cyst which is inside of the left ovary expanding it, as well as both of my Fallopian tubes being blocked with fluid and endometrial growth. The doctors have told me because of this, the left ovary and both Fallopian tubes need to be removed. I will be left with only my uterus and right ovary. The GYN surgeon and fertility doctor and have advised me to freeze my eggs and do IVF later on, because after this surgery, I will not be able to have children naturally. I am devastated, angry, sad, all of the above. As you may or may not know, this procedure is very expensive and most insurance companies do not cover the costs for this procedure. Unfortunately, my insurance company is one of those. I love children. Yes, adoption is always an option, but it is my STRONG desire to birth children of my own. If you can, please donate to help me out and share this campaign. Thank you in advance for your donations of love, prayers or monetary value. Thank you.
UPDATE: I will be undergoing my second endometriosis surgery on June 17, 2019. My fertility doctor wants me to do a cycle of medication and egg retrieval before then, to maximize the amount of eggs I will have in storage.
UPDATE: 5/26/19 I have successfully finished one cycle of fertility treatment and was able to retrieve and freeze two eggs. Surgery is still set for June 17, 2019.
