Winterization Campaign: Sudan-Peace Initiative for Winter

Bird never flew on one wing!

We would like to thank for the benevolent and generous support that emerged after the catastrophe of the war in Sudan in 15 April 2023. Through your generous contribution, we in “Sudan Peace Sudan - SPS” initiative, were able to respond to the urgent needs of and support 25 Sudanese families in Egypt, including providing subsistence and food expenses, purchasing beds and simple electrical sets for the families who rented unfurnished inexpensive accommodation, paying rental cost for single-parent families, treated medial emergency cases of kidney failure, cancer, and other urgent surgeries.

SPS is once again raising funds for our Winterization Drive to assist Sudanese families, many of whom are in dire need of critical aid, in order to help them prepare for and cope during the upcoming winter months. Our goal is to raise another 5,000 USD to offer emergency relief during this dark and cold time and to offer warmth in whichever ways possible.

With increasing rent, electricity, fuel, gas, and water costs in the host country, no systems of safe indoor heating, coupled with little to no employment opportunities and food insecurity, many families, single parents, and unaccompanied children do not know where to turn to for help. While we are a small group of volunteers, we are hoping, with your support, that we can fill a small gap where international organizations and other agencies cannot reach. Know that your donation will have a direct impact and help in purchasing blankets and warm clothes, as well as go towards emergency rent and electricity costs, as well as medicine, baby formula, or emergency health-related matters.

We at SPS are a group of scholars and activitsts based in Cairo who distribute the funds as in kind contributions directly to the displaced Sudanese comminity in Cairo. Many of us are affilliated with the American University of Cairo, and those of us doing needs assessment have years of professional experience with various international NGOs working in migration and refugee protection. حملة الشتاء: مبادرة السودان- سلام لشتاء 2023-2024

اليد الواحدة لا تصفق!

نود أن نشكركم/كن على الدعم السخي الذي أبديتموه بعد كارثة الحرب في السودان في 15 أبريل 2023. فمن خلال مساهمتكم الكريمة، تمكنا نحن في مبادرة "سلام السودان" - من أن ندعم 25 أسرة سودانية في مصر، وأن نلبي الاحتياجات الملحة بما في ذلك توفير نفقات المعيشة والطعام، وشراء الأسرة والأدوات الكهربائية البسيطة للأسر التي استأجرت سكن غير مفروش رخيص الثمن، ودفع تكاليف الإيجار للأسر المعيلة، وعلاج حالات الطوارئ الطبية مثل الفشل الكلوي والسرطان، وك1لك العمليات الجراحية العاجلة.

والآن فيما يقترب فصل الشتاء مسرعاً ببرده القارس.، تقوم منظمة "السودان سلام" مرة أخرى بجمع المساهمات لحملة الشتاء من أجل تقديم يد العون للمتضررين من الحرب، حيث أن العديد منهم في حاجة ماسة إلى المساعدات العاجلة التي تعينهم على الاستعداد والتأقلم مع أشهر الشتاء القادمة، والتي لم يختبرونها من قبل. مرة أخرى، نهدف إلى جمع مبلغ 5,000 دولار أمريكي لتقديم المساعدات الطارئة خلال هذا الوقت المظلم البارد لتوفير وسائل التدفئة الممكنة.

ومع زيادة تكاليف الإيجار والكهرباء والوقود والغاز والمياه في البلد المضيف، وعدم وجود أنظمة تدفئة داخلية آمنة، إلى جانب ندرة فرص العمل أو انعدامها وانعدام الأمن الغذائي، لا تدري العديد من الأسر والأمهات المعيلات والأطفال غير المصحوبين إلى أين تتجه للحصول على المساعدة. وعلى الرغم من أننا مجموعة صغيرة من المتطوعات/ين، إلا أننا نأمل من خلال دعمكم، أن نتمكن من سد فجوة ولو صغيرة لا تستطيع المنظمات الدولية والوكالات الأخرى الوصول إليها. علماً أن تبرعكم/كن سيكون له الأثر المباشر، وسيساعد في توفير الأغطية والبطانيات والملابس الشتوية الدافئة، وكذلك تغطية تكلفة الإيجار والكهرباء، بالإضافة إلى توفير الأدوية و لبن الأطفال والإستجابة للأمور الصحية الطارئة.
