Sudan Family Relief

Sudan has been going through a war since April 15, 2023 caused by two large military groups fighting for power over the country. The conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) has led to over 400 reported deaths, the displacement of thousands, and it has caused a very unfortunate humanitarian crisis in the region. Sudanese people have been struggling for years to establish a civilian-led government, and the current situation is a huge setback to their efforts.

As a Sudanese-American, this conflict hits home for me. A number of my family members residing in Khartoum have been killed and injured by the ongoing violence, while others are in urgent need of support. In addition to the worry of being shot or killed by airstrikes, food and water has been scarce and difficult to find.

By donating to this GoFundMe, you can help provide crucial support to members of my family in Khartoum. This includes children, elders, people with disabilities, and pregnant women who are in desperate need of evacuation as the fighting continues and they run out of resources. Your contribution will go towards covering the costs of food, water, transportation, lodging, and other expenses related to their evacuation to Egypt. Current transportation alone to Egypt costs $500 per person.

My name is Omnia Fadelelsaid Noparstak. I am originally from Sudan but now reside in greater Boston with my husband and children. You might've heard me and my mother on WGBH, 89.7 FM in Boston. I will be sending all funds raised to my family members in Sudan. Due to a complete breakdown of infrastructure I will be sending funds via Western Union. Funds I send will be used for shelter, food and transportation to a safe place away from the violence.
