Sudan Refugee Crisis: Support Mohamed & His Family
Donation protected
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful
Assalamwalaikum,
My name is Lailah and I am raising funds for our family friend Mohamed, a Sudanese refugee displaced in Libya. After hiring him for work, my father learned of his heartbreaking story. Mohamed fled Sudan, which is currently facing one of the worst humanitarian crises today. Hundreds of thousands of civilians are being killed and millions starved and displaced from their homes, which is how Mohamed ended up in Libya and separated from his family— the rest of his family fleeing to other countries. He is the sole provider for them, currently picking up labor jobs while making less than $250 a month. He hardly has enough to provide shelter and food for himself, let alone them. Many of his family members were killed, and he just wants to protect the rest in any way he can. He is currently registered as a refugee with the UNHCR, but they have done nothing to contact and support him or his family. I ask that you donate any small amount to get them through this difficult time. After collecting donations, I will be able to send the money to my father who will be able to send or bring the money to Libya. The money will be used to provide basic needs (food, shelter, etc.) to both Mohamed and his family abroad. Allah bless all those who took the time to donate and support Mohamed through this journey. Ya Rabb, Ameen.
Below is a testimony from Mohamed (some information is redacted to protect his family's location):
“My family’s in ******* now, I’m in Libya because of the war. If you’re caught by the SAF, they think you’re with the RSF, and if the RSF see you, they think you’re with the SAF. My home is finished, destroyed at this time. Me personally, if I go back to Sudan and there is a peace agreement, I would ask myself... Where do I go? Where is my home? It’s gone. Totally gone. By the RSF. Everything was stolen. Alhamdulillah I’m safe. I lost from my family my aunt, my father’s sister, two of my sisters, two of my nephews, one of them a week old. Both them and their mother. Because of the war. But we only say what pleases Allah. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. May Allah accept all the dead of all Muslims. Ameen.”
Lastly, I ask that people sign the petition to bring attention to Mohamed's case to the UNHCR who is responsible for his well-being: https://chng.it/WCrwBRNXSg
