Sudan Aid Fund

We are Space Black, a London based design studio that explores alternative spatial futures for marginalised communities.

On Saturday 15th April 2023, clashes broke out between the Rapid Support Forces and Sudanese Armed Forces across Sudan. Despite calls for ceasefires, heavy fighting has continued across the country with civilians caught in the crossfire. Homes are being shelled and 40/59 hospitals in the capital are bombed out of service with 1000s injured. Many have been trapped in their homes, with power outages, no running water and depleting food stocks. More have begun fleeing the city to rural areas. The death toll is at 300 with fears that this number is a huge underestimation.

As a British Sudanese team, the violence that has erupted in Sudan has had a direct impact on our communities, with most now leaving their homes that they have lived in for generations.

We are working directly with Randa Osman, a friend and aid worker who runs an organisation called Droup Alkair (Path of Goodness). Randa and her team of volunteers have been working on the ground for 5+ years. The charity supports families that are registered with the organisation based on their specific needs. Her previous projects with Heba's family have been paying medical bills, helping families pay rent, paying for school fees, buying school uniforms and food banks.

We will be communicating and working directly with Randa to ensure that resources are allocated to what is most needed on the ground at the given time. These will be shared with you as ongoing bi-daily updates as the situation evolves. Aid will be given in the form of
