The Sudbury Permanent Firefighters Association is once again conducting our annual fundraising effort. We would like to thank you for your donations to our direct mailing request over the last few years. With input from residents, in 2009 we moved away from professional fundraising companies and began our direct mail campaign. This approach insures that one hundred percent (100%) of your contribution goes directly to the association. This is the only request you will receive from the Sudbury Firefighters this year; there will be no telephone calls to your home from our organization.
It has been a difficult year for Sudbury Fire as all of our fundraising events have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Our members are on the front line, taking on this pandemic head on trying to protect the community during these trying times.
The Sudbury Permanent Firefighters Association assists Sudbury Firefighters and their families in time of need due to illness, injury, or death. In addition, the Sudbury Permanent Firefighters Association offers the Matthew O. Bardsley Memorial Scholarship. This is granted annually to graduating Lincoln Sudbury seniors, as well as to children of Sudbury Firefighters.
We also support various local charities and civic organizations such as the ongoing senior lock box program. This program is a free program offered to our senior citizens to allow for easy access to the house in the event of an emergency, and only the fire department has a key, and access to. This allows for fast and efficient response without having to force entry or cause damage.
We appreciate your support of the Sudbury Permanent Firefighters Association. This support gives us options to provide help to members and their families in need of assistance. Moreover, your generosity will assist local charities, civic organizations and scholarship programs that are important to us.
