Sudden Tragic Lost Of Our Son,Brother,Nephew

Boozhoo; Hello, My Name is Jade Anderson, and I am the Aunt of whom I’m making this fundraiser for.

There is no right way of going about this, other then, this past weekend, we suddenly & tragically lost the life of our dearest loved one. Our 15 Year Old, Nephew, Son, Brother, Grandson, Cousin, Friend and Boyfriend to name a few. Just two months shy of his sweet sixteenth birthday: November, 15,2021.

Saturday, 9th, around 4:45pm-5:00pm, I arrived back to the powwow grounds at River Side Park, Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with my oldest sister/ mother of my nephew: DeAndre Lee Yarbrough, and the brother Demetrus. We are Tribal Members of GTB- Grand Traverse Band Of Odawa/ Chippewa Indians. When pulling in the parking space our father signaled a little ways down from the powwow grounds to which we seen emergency lights in the distance, and followed by, “DeAndre Fell In The Water, He Didn’t Come Back Up!”, I heard what he said instantly and feared the worst. I told my sister and nephew to get back into the car, as panic and fear struck all of us, my sister instantly screaming, “what!?” & “no!”, and his little brother calling out for his big brother as we raced down the driveway. We pulled up to the curb, hopped out the vehicle and ran towards the scene, a group of people ranging from police, paramedics, bystanders who helped, to our family, surrounded our DeAndre, lying there lifeless near the Grand Rivers edge. EMS worked profusely to bring our loved one back, performing CPR, administering medicine, resuscitation, to trying to get the water out of him. Unfortunately it was to late, he was under the water to long. Ultimately lifesaving measures were performed but were unsuccessful. Our DeAndre was then pronounced Dead.

DeAndre, was walking with his cousin: our niece, and his German Shepherd puppy- Beno, to the waters edge to let him drink some water, considering it was a hot day. Along the waters edge are broken slabs of concrete, to then DeAndre Slipped & Fell In, Ultimately Drowning. All measures from my niece and to our family were taken to try and save our dearest loved one. In the end, we lost him , We as a family, are asking for donations to cover all costs of our sudden and tragic lost. No amount of time can prepare you for this type of devastation.
