Sue and Rosie’s National Park Tour

Donation protected
As many of you know, I had breast cancer in 2015, beat it, then had a recurrence of it January 2020. I’ve been struggling with this latest prognosis of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer which has spread throughout my lungs, bones, and lymph nodes in my chest. My next step in life is to enjoy every second of it. I plan to see and enjoy all nature has to offer in our country’s beautiful national parks.

During the last several years and after enduring numerous surgeries and treatments, I haven’t been able to continue my massage therapy practice. Although I have a small savings, I know I’m going to need help with some of the travel costs. Ideally, my travel plans would include the Southwest. I would love to see the Grand Canyon, the Sequoias, Yosemite, Arches…there are some many places I want to see and experience.

I have worked hard and been independent all my life, but now I need help!

This is what I need help with:

I want to be able to drive, not fly because of a compromised immune system. Therefore, I would need funds to rent or purchase a used conversion van and incidental expenses including food, gas, and an occasional hotel.

Hopefully you can make this trip a reality! Any contribution large or small will help me live out my dream. There are 2 ways you can help.
‘First, I hope you can make a contribution.
‘Second, please share this Go Fund Me post with as many people on your social platforms as you can in order to reach more people. Every dollar will add up.

If you would like to know more about me, I have included a brief history of my life below.
About me:

I come from a large Irish catholic family. Number 7 of 9. I started babysitting at 13, waitress at 16. I moved to NH when I was 20 and got a job as an optician for 17 years. At the end of my optical career, I started going to massage school. While working full time and going to school, I tested and passed my black belt test in Shotokan, Isshinryu, and pressure point theory. After graduating massage school, I was let go at my optical job which led me to landscaping to make extra money. While landscaping, I met a lot of wonderful people whom I gave massages to in their home. My practice began to build. Summer was super busy, winters were really slow. So in 2009 I started a karate class at the community center in Cape Elizabeth. My favorite job ever! I never had children of my own, but have always loved kids and their energy. It was a very sad day when I had to stop teaching in January 2020 when I was diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I won’t bore you with the details of the past 2 1/2 years, but it’s been hell. I’m currently trying my 5th line of treatment. What that means is we’ve tried 4 other treatments that haven’t worked. Although my cancer has spread throughout my chest, lymph nodes, bones and lungs, I have energy and feel reasonably good. I don’t want to sit around waiting to die. Rosie(my cat) and I want to hit the road!
