SUE EARTH ANGEL
Donation protected
Sue Ellen Bowen Ellsworth Harteg, her heart and spirit are a big as her name.
Sue’s heart belongs to God. She more closely lives out the teachings of Jesus than most people we know. She accepts people where they are and does not judge people or exclude them because of any beliefs the person may have.
She started a Prayer Quilt Ministry. A group of women would gather and make quilts for persons in the community who were ill, or maybe going through a rough time. The quilts were dedicated in the sanctuary and then delivered.
Sue has been making pillow cases for the children in Mott Hospital. The kids are allowed to pick out a pillowcase from those that have been donated, and the kids get to keep those pillow cases. Both the kids and their families welcome this gift of love and kindness. It’s always nice to know someone cares.
Her kindness is not just to humans. She has a great love for animals too. She is the treasurer for DragonFly Rescue Rescue & Resources and help's with fundraising for our group so that we may save and care for more animals her dedication to help all Gods creatures is amazing
If a person needs someone to talk to, Sue will listen, truly listen and be present with that person. Her home was always open to her sons’ friends, anybody else who wanted to drop by. Well beyond when the rest of us had begun locking our doors, her doors always remained open.
Sue is now going through a very difficult time in her own life. Since at least last summer she has been having digestive issues. Her doctor tried various treatments, some giving a modicum of relief. As time went on her symptoms became worse, she was in pain, she didn’t want to eat, and many nights she slept sitting up in a chair. By last Nov/Dec she was able to eat very little, she was in pain, she was having bloating. Symptoms continued to increase and finally in March she had a CT scan. Within a couple of hours of the test the doctor called to tell her that she needed to meet with an gyn oncologist as soon as possible, and got her an appointment 2 days later. At which time she was told she had advanced ovarian cancer.
She has received 4 rounds of chemotherapy. Her latest CT showed that the chemo had reduced the cancer by about half. Dr. Upal has scheduled her for a radical hysterectomy on July 5 where he will remove any cancerous tissue they can find in her abdomen. She will be off work for up to 12 weeks. Chemotherapy will continue after the surgery.
Sue has likely touched you or someone you know and made that life better and brighter for her presence………give back…..Sue has and will continue to brighten all our lives even through this difficult time. Right now she needs us , let's lighten her load. We would like raise atleast $3,000.00 to cover some of her bills for the next three months please friends even if its only $5.00 it takes us closer to our goal and can give Sue some piece of mind so she can recover without worry and continue to make our lives brighter/ Thank you
