Sue began having symptoms of headaches, nausea, loss of balance, coordination and tremors in her left arm. After a weekend of camping with her boyfriend Dana and her sister and brother-in-law, it became apparent that she needed to seek medical advice. An MRI revealed lung cancer that has also spread to her brain with multiple tumors, the largest tumor and most dangerous was sitting on her cerebellum. She and Dana flew to Boston August 29th to see her parents and brother and also get a second opinion at Mass General, a top notch cancer research hospital. She was examined there two days later and went into surgery that same afternoon to remove the largest tumor. Surgery was successful and they were able to remove 90+% of it. She spent 5 nights in the ICU neuro ward and has been discharged with orders for physical therapy and appointments soon to follow with a plan for further treatment options. At this time she is thinking radiation treatments and chemotherapy will be happening. There are many new and hopeful treatments for Sue which could allow her to live to a ripe old age. All of this costs money and insurance only covers so much with out-of-pocket, deductibles, living expenses, etc. Nobody likes to ask for money but sometimes it takes a village, and we are the village. Please consider donating today, every dollar counts!
