Sue's Breast Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hi my name is Lindsay Hawley and many of you viewing this have supported a number of my fundraising campaigns for good causes around the world. I greatly appreciate the compassion and support my community is always showing and want to thank you for supporting me in my most important campaign ever.
I am fundraising to help cover the health care for Sue Pelley. She was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, with two tumors in her right breast, both cancerous and one is invasive.
Some of you know Sue as a park ranger, as a volunteer with education and environmental non profits, as a mentor, as a yogi, a friend, a wife.
I know her as my mother.
While Sue didn’t birth me, she has been the woman who has most shaped me into the woman I am today. She has been a mother to me.
My birth mother left me with my dad when I was 5 because of her addictions, a completely different sickness I have learned to cope with. And Sue has always been compassionate and supportive through it all.
When Sue and my dad first started dating when I was about 10 years old she taught my dad and I healthy living. She taught me about all natural products, about yoga and meditation and has been the glue for our little family.
She has loved me like her own, through the good and the bad and has made me and my dad better people with her love and positive influence.
When I heard the news about the cancer I was shocked. She is the healthiest person I know. I knew I needed to help her however I could, so here I am, doing what I have done so many times before. But instead of campaigning for a school or orphanage in some village far away, Im humbly asking for help for my own family, from my own village.
Sue has done a lot of research and with the support of the doctors and healers in her circle has decided on the best treatment for her condition.
It is alternative treatment at the Euro Med Foundation, a non-profit medical center for the treatment of cancer in Phoenix, Arizona.
It is a three pronged approach. First IPT insulin potentiated therapy/low dose chemo, immune system support, and nutritional supplemental care.
The costs are extensive:
The first round of treatments is $16,800 for 4 weeks,
Two PET and CAT scan are $2,200,
Lab work $1,000,
and the Airbnb rental for one month in Phoenix is $2,500.
Total for first month is $22,500.
After the first month the scans show how the cancer is responding to the chemo treatments. Then we will know what the additional treatments could be.
Unfortunately her insurance does not cover any of this treatment and while she has done an incredible job saving for retirement, my parents pension from their Park Ranger jobs do not quite cover for these expenses.
Your donation of any kind, even a share of this campaign, will make such a difference for my family.
If you are able to give a loan of a larger amount, please contact me at [email redacted], as there is money available to pay back expenses in two years
Thank you for your love and support in this incredibly difficult time in our lives. I don't know what I would do with out my mom and I don't know what I would do without all of you.
