SUFFOLK LIBRARIES DAY 2024
Donation protected
My name is Maureen and I am a Library Manager at Stradbroke and Debenham Libraries in Suffolk. I am attempting to read my height (5ft 2inches) in books to raise money for Suffolk Libraries Day 2024.
Small libraries are very important to the village communities which they serve. In Stradbroke, the Post Office is in the Library and we have a Community Cafe which is run by volunteers. These amenities are extremely important to our community, as they support us in providing services that help alleviate social isolation and provide financial resources, like banking facilities that are fast disappearing from our local towns.
In Debenham, the library is at the local Primary School and encourages children to use the library from a young age, as well as providing events and activities that support that reading journey.
The money raised will be used to support Suffolk Libraries commitment to the important work their libraries do for communities, to help nurture children's literacy, tackle isolation and promote wellbeing across Suffolk
