Pour some sugar on us!!!!!

Sugar & Sh*t is a provocative dark comedy inspired by true events. It combines memoirs of a sex worker named Sugar and the chronicles of an unwanted adoptee named The S**t (who ate frosted flakes every day and never forgave her mother for setting the house on fire). These two people, though seemingly from separate worlds, take the audience on a wild ride through meetings with a variety of deranged characters including nuns, priests, sinners, firemen, tiger poachers, and classic clients at a strip club. Eventually, Sugar and S**t meet on their shared quest for sovereignty and achieve their freedom.

Lori Hoeft, on Sugar and S**t, “Putting up Sugar and S**t gives me the stage to be a fierce, no boundaries female artist; it allows me to break out of the cage of sexism and have my voice heard, wild and free.”

Lenny Langley on Sugar and S**t, “I wanted space to not only bring my personal stories to life but to create a provocative, hilarious, and enlightening look at how people attempt to fill their voids —the empty holes in their psyches —left from childhood trauma, addiction, mental health issues, or just the simple shitshow of life.”

Rated 18+

This show contains adult language, explicit topics, nudity, and tigerlicious content.

Content is inclusive to diverse audiences 18-80+ including LGBTQ+, trauma survivors, recovering catholics, sex workers, exotic dancers, creative writers, and has an international audience already.

BONUS FRINGE EXPERIENCE

We want all of our audiences to have an Imaginative Storm experience, like we had. Part of our show was conceived in The Imaginative Storm, a weekly workshop led by Allegra Huston and the accomplished poet, storyteller, teacher, and coach, and one of our dearest mentors, James Nave. In the spirit of the community orientation of the Hollywood Fringe, all show participants will be invited to stay for our additional 45-minute Q&A with the artists plus an Unleash Your Story experience modeled after The Imaginative Storm. This addition will be immediately following the performance both in-person and on livestream, guided directly by James Nave himself. James Nave has been a pivotal force in the last 25 years of Creativity Camps in collaboration with Julia Cameron, author of The Artists’ Way, another writing inspiration for us. We hope this inspires audience members to not only receive a sneak peak into our personal writing process, but to reignite or develop their own!

How much sugar does the SUGARFUND need?

YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MUCH SUGAR!

We have a detailed budget to bring this show to life. We have successfully raised $7,000 to cover our costs for the venue and designs to bring the stage to life. But truly, the production costs much more. Our original budget goal was $16,000. The more help we have, the better our show can be.

We are currently paying out of our personal pockets to produce this show, an extra challenge this year due to the current COVID-19 landscape. Artists and filmmakers have been some of the hardest-hit members of the coronavirus pandemic. We are, however, very determined to bring our voices into the world regardless of these COVID circumstances.

Below is an outline of our biggest dreams for the SUGARFUND.

We deeply appreciate your support to make our show it’s most spectacular!

OUR WILLYWONKA DREAM is for the SUGARFUND to reach or exceed $10,000!

This would allow SUGAR AND SH*T to be a dream come true. The more sugar we have the more we can invest in better quality and the highest level of sophistication for costumes, props, sound design, music score, lighting direction, venue, livestreaming, and insurance costs...as well as a full-blown sugary afterparty for all of our fans!

OUR CANDYLAND DREAM is for the SUGARFUND to reach or exceed $5,000!

This would surely bring SUGAR AND SH*T to life, and would cover our absolute basics of costumes, props, sound design, music score, lighting direction, venue, and livestreaming.
