Suggs left us tonight at exactly 7:00pm.

I held him and spoke to him until the very last beat of his heart.

There are no words to describe the heartbreak, pain, devastation and extreme deep sadness I feel. That we all feel, his family and friends. My heart aches for Saylor in a way I never imagined possible.

Thank you all once again for your continued thoughts and prayers. The days ahead will be painful and bring many more tears.

A graveside service and memorial will be in a few months. I will keep everyone posted as those plans develop.

As many of you know, my sister’s (Jenny Burks) husband, Mark Suggs, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His prognosis is hopeful, but there will be months, if not years, of chemotherapy treatments with extended hospitalizations. And eventually a bone marrow transplant. Many of you have asked how you can help, so along with prayers and blood donations, we are setting this up for those of you who would like to donate. Jenny will be working 7 days a week, plus caring for their 17 month old daughter, along with taking care of Mark and being there for her other 2 daughters. As most of you know she is self employed and when she isn’t actively working at her salon there are no funds coming in. This means no sick leave or paid time off.
Mark, of course, will not be working for a very long time. He works in commercial construction now but served 7 years combined in the U.S. Navy and Army. He was an Army medic and paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and served 2 deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq.
There will be mounting expenses to prepare their house to be as dust-free and sanitized as possible for when Mark returns home. On top of that, daily bills and medical expenses. If you would like to help, it will be very much appreciated. Thank you all for your love and support!
