Hello friends! I am SO excited to announce that this summer I am choreographing and producing my first dance concert called The Graduate: An Evening in the Wild to the music of The Arcadian Wild. It will feature professional dancers & be performed at South Carolina Children's Theatre on July 14th & 15th. I am partnering with & raising money for a suicide prevention & mental health non-profit called Walt's Waltz based in Greenville, SC. Walt’s Waltz goal is to "end the stigma that surrounds those with mental health struggles through professionally led educational programs, integration of the performing and visual arts, and creation of Walt’s Waltz Stigma-Free Environments." Last year, I lost my dear friend Luke Osterhaus to suicide & I am dedicating this show to him.
The Graduate: An Evening in the Wild will portray the rise & fall of humanity throughout the many seasons of life & convey the theme that everyone’s spring is just around the corner. I will be donating part of our proceeds to Walt’s Waltz and they will host a mental health presentation after one of the shows, free of charge. I am excited to share this important message with the Greenville community and support a non-profit that does so much good for humanity.
This show promotes mental health and conversations about mental health. The dance show & the presentation given by Walt's Waltz will educate audiences on the importance of talking about mental health & going through life with one another. Our goal is to make people feel loved, seen, & feel safe and confident to get the help they need.
