Suli and Onita to compete in the Samoa Bowl!

Donation protected
Suli and Onita Davis are sisters that have spent the past few years dedicating much time to developing in volleyball. For the majority of the year they begin preparing for high school volleyball in August. Volleyball club season begins shortly after that in December and lasts into July. They have worked so hard day in and day out. They do this because they are passionate, they see opportunities it can give them, they develop relationships, they develop not only physically, but they learn the sense of responsibility and adversity. They learn to contribute in bigger ways than just sports. They have learned to step out of their comfort zones, and see into their potential. They do this all year long. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Suli is a 16 year old junior at Colleyville Heritage High School. Her passion for volleyball has blessed her with opportunities to train with the USA NTDP (National Training Development Program). She continues to be invited to train with the best volleyball players in the country her age. She has earned a spot on the USA U19 roster and is one of the youngest. She has helped her high school team to win its first state volleyball championship in 2022. She is currently ranked #2 in Texas and #6 nationally for the volleyball class of 2025. She has recently committed to play for BYU. She dreams of being an Olympian and is working to get her feet in the door.

Onita is a 15 year old sophomore. She is 6’3 and is continually developing and growing. This is her first year that she gets to play with her sister on Varsity for their school team. Onita contributes with some huge blocks. She is excited for what the future holds for her.

These sisters are not only exceptional athletes, but also aspiring academic achievers and community role models. They embody the values of goodness, and commitment to their communities.

Suli and Onita have been granted the unique chance to represent their families, their communities, and the midwest from Nebraska, to Missouri, to the state of Texas. They have been invited to play for Team Midwest for the Samoa Bowl in American Samoa. It will be the first time that they have traveled internationally and compete at this level.

They will not only have the opportunity to compete, but they will also have the experience of connecting with their roots and learn hands on of culture, traditions, respect from their ancestors island heritage. They will be blessed to have some service opportunities in the villages and communities. They will get to meet with the Governor of Samoa and government dignitaries. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Suli and Onita to be part of.

This tournament will be taking place the last week of December. They will be traveling from December 25, 2023- Jan 1, 2024. These dates are hard traveling dates since it is during the holidays.

With the amount of time given and at short notice we would be grateful for any donations that will help them reach their goal of $8000. This will help to go towards all traveling expenses including travel, airfare, meals, etc.

Your involvement would make a significant difference in helping these remarkable girls achieve such an experience of a lifetime. We can’t thank you enough for your support and generosity! Truly truly appreciate anything that will help them achieve this opportunity!
