Please consider donating to help the Henke family. Baylie is a new nurse and started her career during the covid pandemic. Previous to becoming an RN, Baylie was a student nurse, who would come in extra to volunteer to help when the ICUs were short-staffed, putting herself at risk of being infected herself, to help patients struggling with this disease. Shortly after graduation, Baylie became pregnant and worked through her pregnancy, up and to the point where she worked a 12-hour shift before having her labor induced. She is a bright spot, who never complains, works hard, and has a positive outlook at all times. No one ever has a bad thing to say about her. Unfortunately, her little boy Sullivan has contracted COVID and has had to be transferred to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville to seek special help in fighting this disease. His labs have been out of the norm, and physically, he has been unstable since he arrived at Norton. There is concern that he has developed what is known as MIS-C, or multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children. This is a rare condition for children who have COVID. It essentially means that the patient's body attacks its organs, putting the patient in multiple organ failure. While there, the doctors will be running extensive tests, including bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures to determine further treatment. We are raising money to help ease the financial cost that this young family will face. The burden of having a young child fall ill, and the helplessness this brave nurse must feel would be unbearable on its own. The funds raised will help the family with medical bills, travel expenses, and any other bills they may accrue during this time. This new nurse took care of so many COVID patients, help us take care of her family while fighting this disease. Thank you in advance, for your support.
