Summer of Service in The Gambia

Hi, my name is Bev. As some of you may know, we have held summer of Service programs in The Gambia for 20+ years. Each summer, we work alongside two local youth organizations to do service projects and educational programs selected by community youth leaders. Additionally, each year, we award scholarships to youth who have shown leadership and academic merit.

This year we have launched a new initiative to empower young women by teaching them trade and entrepreneurial skills to develop local businesses to support themselves and their families. GETSP (Girl's Empowerment and Skills Training Program) is about to graduate its first class of 25 young women and welcome a new class.

Due to Covid 19, our regular fundraising efforts were no longer possible, so we are putting together this fundraiser, hoping that your donations will help fund these worthwhile projects and programs.
