Summerfield Stables- Storm Darragh Damage fundraiser
Donation protected
We are fundraising for Summerfield Stables for the repairs after the effect of storm Darragh.
Summerfield Stables is a community group that was established in in 1970. It is a registered charity with the aim of encouraging children and young people in the Yardley Wood area of Birmingham to understand and interact with horses. The young people who visit the stables range from the age of three upwards and come from the surrounding areas, including Yardley Wood, Hall Green, Balsall Heath, Kings Heath and Billesley. We aim to be as inclusive as possible of children with both mental and physical disabilities and work with a variety of children who struggle to achieve in mainstream education.
We are raising money in aid of SUMMERFIELD STABLES-HORSES IN THE COMMUNITY and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to us.
Summerfield Stables has a second training centre at Solihull Riding Club . The aim of this centre is to help a diverse range of riders progress on to The British Horse Society Stages 3 and 4 which may help them in future careers and employment or to gain knowledge and the skills to own their own horse in the future.
The storm caused damage to both Summerfield Stables sites. Causing multiple stables to be damaged, many trees to fall and lots of equipment to be damaged. These things are needed to maintain the horse’s welfare needs and to keep the access for the young people.
