Summerley Estate Community Defibrillator

Hi, my name is Tori Smart and I am raising money for a community AED (Automated External defibrillator) for the Summerley Estate in Felpham. If we meet the target we may be able to buy and install two defibs. The Summerley estate does not currently have any defibs, with the nearest being too far away in an emergency situation.

I am a Nurse so it's in my nature to want to have important life saving equipment in the right places. As soon as I moved here I asked where the defib was kept, and since learning there wasn't one I've wanted to get one.

The defib won't just be for people on the Summerley estate, it could be used by someone passing through or someone on the beach. If a defib is administered within 5 minutes of cardiac arrest the patients chances of survival are 50-70%. The patients chance of survival falls between 7-10% with every minute that defibrillation is delayed.
