Summer's fight against Stage IV Ovarian Cancer

A few months ago, I received the devastating diagnosis of Stage IV Ovarian cancer, an extremely aggressive form of cancer that affects that starts in the Ovaries and spreads theough the body quickly. Since then, my life has been turned upside down as I’ve undergone numerous medical procedures, treatments, and consultations. Each step of this journey has come with its own set of challenges, both physically and emotionally.

Compounding the difficulties of battling this illness is the frustrating waiting period for long term disability benefits. It takes a minimum of 45 days during which I will have no income. As I focus on my health and recovery, the financial strain of medical expenses, daily living costs, and lost income has become overwhelming. Despite my best efforts to navigate the bureaucracy, the waiting time for disability benefits continues to prolong, leaving me in a precarious financial situation.

As someone who has always prided themselves on independence and self-sufficiency, asking for help has never been easy for me.
