Sunday Soul Pop-Up Restaurant
Created by the Chief Change Maker of Black Celebrity Giving BCG , Jasmine Crowe, in 2013. The idea for Sunday Soul ATL was to provide men, women and children experiencing homelessness with a hot, home-cooked buffet style meal complete with amazing volunteers and classic old school music. A little over two years later, we have introduced the Sunday Soul Pop-Up Restaurant, our goal is to provide a 5-course meal, restaurant style complete with tables, chairs, linens, fresh flowers and of course servers on the streets in known homeless communities across the country.
Beyond just food and a wonderful experience, we also provide care packages, blankets and mental health counseling.
Our goal is to host this restaurant experience twice a week and partner with other organizations across the country to bring it to other cities.
This means so much to us, because the people we served told us that they felt whole again. So often critics will say that feeding homeless people is not part of the solution, but making people feel like people again, truly is.
Some of the things we would like to purchase with funds raised include: Food and Drinks, Server Trays, Aprons, Tables, Chairs and more linens.
Our next Sunday Soul Experience takes place on Valentine's Day in Atlanta, next we'll visit Washington, DC in March.
