2022 Sunrise of Oakland Hills Caregiver Fund
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Like you, I have a family member at Sunrise. My husband, Frank, has been in the Reminiscence neighborhood since 2019. While it was not an easy family decision to have him leave our home, we are thankful that we chose Sunrise of Oakland Hills. I am grateful to the hard-working team and am writing to you asking for your support Caregiver Fund.
Christopher and Kay Dunn established the Sunrise Caregiver Fund in 2009 as an annual way to honor the non-management staff for their excellent care of the residents throughout the year. This fund is independent of Sunrise and is administered by us, family members. We only ask management to document staff hours and provide contact information for families. Funds are aggregated, then divided among staff members based upon the number of hours worked during the year.
Please join my family and me as we express our appreciation for the care given by donating to the “Caregivers’ Fund.” A few families have asked for guidelines for giving - a recommendation is a dollar a day for the care during the year. Previous contributions received at Sunrise range from $25 to $2,500. Any amount is welcomed and appreciated. We distribute all the funds to the team (with the exception of a 2.9% fee charged by the GoFundMe platform).
We are collecting funds through GoFundMe, a trusted fundraising platform that enables us to better administer the fund and collect as many donations as possible.
GoFundMe accepts donations by debit or credit card and will allow you to donate anonymously or with a note to caregivers (we will share notes, but not donation amounts, with the caregiving team). Kristie Chamorro, whose mother was a part of the Sunrise community, is helping administer the fund and is happy to answer any questions. If you prefer to donate by check, please contact Kristie at [email redacted].
In order for us to distribute the gifts to caregivers during the holiday season, please contribute by December 22, 2022.
Special thanks for your love and generosity,
Silver White
