Super B's Colic Surgery

Donation protected
After recently losing my 28 year old gelding, and my other mare having a severe allergic reaction to a particular type of fly, on 14 November 2019 a horse owner's worst nightmare happened to me and my beloved Super B.   My phone started going crazy at work with phone calls and texts telling me Super B was found down, thrashing around in a horrible colic and was on her way to the hospital and needed emergency surgery.  I raced to the hospital to potentially say my last goodbye to one of the most special horses I have ever met on this earth.  You can read about our history here:  http://jumpingpercheron.blogspot.com/2018/04/the-ottb-that-made-me-liar.html.
She had an Epiploic Foramen Entrapment with Strangulated Illeum and a jejunocecsotomy was performed to remove two feet of entrapped, strangulated intestine by Dr. Darla Moser, Dr. Wyatt Winchell, Dr. Taylor Clawson, and their amazing team at Desert Pines Equine in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Super B had a couple rough patches during her recovery and ended up staying two weeks in the hospital.  However, her War Horse spirit showed through as always and she is now home with her bestie, resting and healing.
This was one of the worst days of my life and the days following were heart wrenching.  So many thoughts and emotions while I sat with her for hours just holding her head, petting her face, and listening to her favorite Pandora station.  I wish more than anything that it was me that had to have an emergency surgery, and not her.  I cannot explain how special this horse is.  From the first ride I knew she was different, and that there was something VERY special about her.  The realization of how close I was to losing her is terrifying.
To add to my streak of terrible luck, I was in the process of insuring her, so, of course she was not insured when this happened and I am paying the bill out of pocket, all $14,330.94 of it.  After many people asking how they could help I have started this as a central point for donations. I am happy to provide the complete, itemized invoice to anyone that asks as well.  Any amount helps and goes directly to this hospital bill.  There are no words to express how grateful we are for any amount donated and I will keep everyone updated with her recovery journey.
