Not all superheros wear capes! The summer of 2019 the Posada family was suddenly forced into battle with a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.
Stephany is a beautiful, , fun loving, previously healthy 7 year old girl. While on vacation with her family in Myrtle Beach in July, Stephany became ill and collapsed in their hotel room. She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma, a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Because her heart and lungs were so weak, she was unable to return home and began chemotherapy immediately in Charleston, S.C. After 4 long and difficult weeks, she was stable enough to fly home to N.J. and resume treatment in Hackensack.
Stephany has has a large tumor covering most of her chest, and since returning to NJ has learned the cancer is also in her bone marrow. Stephany will be undergoing intense chemotherapy for the next 9 months and continued treatment for the next 3 years. Stephany has been in intense pain with treatment and is no longer able to walk and must now use a wheel chair. She has begun to loose her hair and worries about how she looks. Due to her compromised immune system, nausea and pain, she has been unable to see friends.
A superhero knows that even under severe adversity, to never give up! We believe in miracles and we ask that you please join us in praying for Stephany and her family!
We are raising money to aid in Stephany's medical expenses and support her family during this difficult time. Thank you to all those who have already given so generously!
