Superhairoes: Haircut for cancer

In May 2025, the 5 of us will be chopping off most of our hair to raise money for cancer!

We will be donating out hair to the Little Princess Trust, who provides free real-hair wigs to children and young adults who have lost their own hair due to cancer or other illnesses.

This is the second time Ludovica is fundraising, here is what she wrote in her first fundraiser, and these words still ring true today:

"Too many people are affected by cancer - directly or indirectly - everyday. It’s affected my family members, my best friend, my parent’s friends, our friends’ friends, neighbours, work colleagues, and that lovely lady I saw on the train once, and every time I feel a profound sense of powerlessness. But there’s hope. There’s always the hope that the amazing scientists working on understanding this cruel killer will learn how to beat it."

That's why she recruited 4 beautiful women who want to contribute to making a small change with big impact together.

Please help us raise money towards the fight against cancer!

The money will be split between the Little Princess Trust in the UK, and Krebsliga in Zurich.

We will donate 3,990 CHF to little princess trust. It costs 700 GBP to make and style 1 wig, therefore, 3,990 CHF (as of today's currency exchange for all 5 of us). And we will donate the rest of the funds to the research department of the Krebsliga in Zurich.

Whether you give 5, 10 or 50 CHF any contribution is very appreciated. We will cover the costs for our own haircuts and any transaction fees charged by GoFundMe.

GERMAN TRANSLATION for our German-speaking friends

Wir vier werden im Mai 2025 unsere Haare abschneiden, um Geld für den Kampf gegen Krebs zu sammeln!

Unsere Haare spenden wir an „the Little Princess Trust“, die kostenlos Echthaarperücken für Kinder und junge Erwachsene herstellt, die ihre eigenen Haare durch Krebs oder andere Krankheiten verloren haben.

Für Ludovica ist es bereits das zweite Mal, dass sie ihre Haare spendet. Nach ihrer ersten erfolgreichen Aktion schrieb sie:

„Zu viele Menschen sind jeden Tag direkt oder indirekt von Krebs betroffen. Fast jeder von uns kennt jemanden: die Familie, die beste Freundin, Freunde der Eltern, Nachbarn, Kolleginnen und Kollegen – oder die freundliche Dame aus dem Zug. Jedes Mal fühlt man sich hilflos. Aber es gibt Hoffnung: Jeden Tag arbeiten Forscherinnen und Forscher daran, diesen grausamen Feind zu verstehen und eines Tages zu besiegen.“

Mit dieser Überzeugung hat Ludovica drei weitere grossartige Frauen gefunden, die gemeinsam etwas bewirken wollen. Jetzt brauchen wir Deine Hilfe: Unterstütze uns, Geld für den Kampf gegen Krebs zu sammeln!

So wird das Geld eingesetzt:

50 % gehen an die Little Princess Trust in Grossbritannien und 50 % gehen an die Krebsliga Zürich zur Unterstützung der Krebsforschung.*

*Eine Perücke kostet etwa 700 GBP in der Herstellung und im Styling. Für vier Perücken sind das rund 3’145 CHF (aktueller Wechselkurs). Diesen Betrag möchten wir zusätzlich an die Krebsforschung spenden.
