Supplies for Families in Need Puerto Vallarta

Donation protected

Puerto Vallarta depends almost entirely on Tourism.
The global pandemic has literals shut down the entire city.

Mexico does not have a state or national unemployment benefits program, at all. When a worker loses her job, she's on her own.

In response to mass layoffs, the government has simply ordered businesses to continue paying workers, taxes, utilities, etc. But businesses have no income. There is no "Mexican Bailout" from the government, at all.

Small and medium businesses - the majority of all businesses and employment in Puerto Vallarta - cannot "keep paying." Most small businesses are doing all they can, but few can continue supporting staff right now with no income. Like workers living paycheck-to-paycheck, most small businesses survive month-to-month.

Furloughed and laid-off workers are struggling as NEVER before. This is much worse than the post-9/11 tourism collapse in 2002, or the global financial crash of 2008. This is UNPRECEDENTED. Those who can, have rallied to support neighbors, friends, and family. But the current need is just too great for the resources available to the few people who still have paychecks.

YOU CAN HELP!

We are a just a diverse group of Vallarta friends - some Mexican, some immigrants to Mexico from the US, some Gay, some Straight, some Trans, some Bi, some Guys, some Girls, some Non-BinaryAll, just people who are trying to help in every way we can.

We're buying, assembling, and delivering basic household grocery packages, with healthy staple foods, fruits and vegetables, hygiene products, baby diapers, and masks to limit the possibility of spreading the virus.

Your contribution of $20, $50, $100, or $200 US dollarswill go 100% to purchase supplies being distributed. We hope to raise $10,000 USD by May 30, when the Mexican government hopes to allow our restaurants, hotels, movie theaters, stores, and other businesses to reopen.

We do the work. We pay the gasoline to deliver to families in need. We follow up to ensure that specific needs are met for individual households.

We will provide a report in early June to all donors detailing how their contribution was spent, and how many families were assisted.

Won't you give, NOW, so that families can eat tomorrow?
