Supplies for Goodooga & Communities

We have reactivated this fund raiser as unfortunately additional Aboriginal community are now affected by Covid. We will distribute any extra funds to those communities in need.

Update: (21.8.2021 8.45am)

We have been overwhelmed by the support offered to our communities. Unfortunately over night  there has been a confirmed case in Lighting Ridge with the only grocery store an exposure site. This further limits the availability of essentials to community. With no major supermarkets in the area we're working hard to make alternative arrangements.

For now we'd like to say thank you to everyone who donated and to the following businesses for the additional donations:

As of 20th August 2021, Goodooga has 2 confirmed cases of Covid-19.

Goodooga is a small Aboriginal community located 900km North-West of Sydney. Goodooga has a population of roughly 250 people. There are approximately 110 houses in the community. The nearest available grocers for essentials and hospital is located 75km away in Lighting Ridge. There is 1 small medical service with 1 health practitioner. There are no available Doctors in the town.

We aim to provide each household with 1 bottle of 500ml Sanitiser, 1 packed for 120 disinfectant wipes and 1 pack of 40 Disposable Grade 2 Surgical Mask.

These items are being purchased at cost price from an established partnership between Wawirra supplies & JS Hayes. Please donate what you can to ensure we are able to support our vulnerable Indigenous community.

Price breakdown is as below:

500ml Hand Sanitiser $62.40 (Comes in carton of 24) (Cost price equals 2.60per bottle)

5 Cartons (Supplies 120 bottles) @ $62.40 = $312. (Excess of 10 bottles donated to medical centre)

120 Pack of Wipes $82.10 (Comes in carton of 12) (cost price equals $6.85 packet)

10 Cartons (Supplies 120 packs) @ 82.10 = $821. (Excess of 10 packs donated to medical centre)

Disposable Grade 2 Surgical Mask 40 per box $18 (Cost price equals .45c per mask)

110 boxes @ $18 = $1,980

Total Cost: $3.113

Any excess supplies will be donated to the Goodooga Health Service.
