Help new community arts center buy supplies for two studios

Donation protected
Rivertown Community Arts Center is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide creative programming, gathering space, and well-stocked studios to both children and adults in the Saint John Valley.

We need help from our community! We are fundraising for art supplies to stock a Studio and Youth Studio; we'll be buying as much as we can across multiple art forms (painting, drawing, fiber arts, pottery, etc.). We will use funds we've already raised through donations and memberships, but we need additional funds to buy more supplies, as we have had an exciting and positive response from the community about our opening!

We will be moving in to 142 West Main Street (next to the post office) in July, and plan to open within a few weeks of the move.

Our shopping list includes acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints; paintbrushes; clay; yarn and fabric; at least one sewing machine; non-toxic paint for kids; easels for both studios; work tables; craft paper; glue; charcoal pencils; sketchbooks; canvases; paper; and MUCH more!

Through an atmosphere of friendship and learning, people will expand their skills or share them with others. With access to supplies and tools, ideas take shape into many different forms, whether they be paintings, puppets, poems, plays, hobby groups, wood carvings, costume design, or experiments in building primitive shelters.

Thanks to our Founding Members - those who pre-pay for a membership before we even open our doors - we were able to secure a space on Main Street in downtown Fort Kent. We'll have a lounge, shop/gallery, two studios, meeting space, and workspace.

We already have a wonderful roster of local people who have skills to share and will be offering programs and workshops in painting, drawing, photography (both film and digital), outdoor skills, herbalism, knitting & crochet, music, yoga, graphic design, and much more.

When someone becomes a member of Rivertown, they'll have access to the studios and all those supplies, and free admission to all programs and events. We want our community to feel good about trying new things and getting together! It's important to us to offer affordable memberships, and we will also have Day Passes for those who want to try it out without purchasing a membership.

We are really excited to bring this to the community, and appreciate your help!
