Support 12 Bones Staff After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
My sister Angela and brother-in-law Bryan are the owners of 12 Bones Smokehouse & Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina. As you’ve likely seen by now, Asheville and the Western North Carolina region have been devastated by Hurricane Helene. Countless Appalachian communities are either flooded or washed away. As the floodwaters recede, we see catastrophic damage to homes and businesses, including the River Arts District, where 12 Bones was founded. Entire livelihoods have been lost. In nearly every direction you look, everything is caked in mud and scattered debris. Broken wood and mangled wiring now stand where intersections once existed.
Bryan and Angela’s primary concern has always been their staff, and in the wake of this disaster, it’s no different. With the indefinite closure of the 12 Bones River store and temporary closure of the 12 Bones South location, their employees will be without a paycheck for the time being. In a city like Asheville, where the economy is largely driven by the service industry, this makes it incredibly difficult to make ends meet.
As Bryan and Angela assess the full extent of the damage at the restaurant, their employees are also dealing with hurricane damage to their personal homes and lives. One thing that would help immensely is monetary relief—something to help them get by until Bryan and Angela can get the restaurants back up and running.
Many have reached out asking how to help so we figured this would be a good place to start. Please consider making a donation to help their staff recover from this distressing disaster. Every little bit counts! I believe that with the generosity of this worldwide BBQ-loving community, we can help the 12 Bones crew make it through this tough time. They would love nothing more than to get that smoker fired up again and serve up tender butts and sweet racks.
