Hi! We're 3D Studios, a research hub dedicated to making our workspaces and living places more power-conscious, integrated, and just.

3D Studios was born out of the observation that even though many organizations and businesses are well intentioned, they continue to struggle actually bring their innovative and social justice aspirations into the 3D. Many of these organizations relied on the framework of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) to address the issues that can shift our focus away from addressing how power, structure, and process undermine social justice efforts. We endeavor to help organizers, groups, and organizations sharpen their focus using a framework that expands beyond DEI to PBJ (Power, Belonging & Justice).

We believe you cannot change what you cannot see. So, using data-science and diagnostic tools we help organizers, groups, and organizations see where their work can better address issues of PBJ. We do this through our innovative PowerPulse Platform

We are seeking support to fund further development of our PowerPulse Platform. PowerPulse is a comprehensive diagnostic tool and platform that helps individuals and organizations bring their social justice aspirations into the 3D. Giving insights into policy impact, worker engagement and experience, and organizational health, PowerPulse is poised to set a new standard for assessing and shaping organizational health along the PBJ dimensions. Unlike other DEI-focused diagnostics, which examine employee engagement and well-being solely through the lens of identity, our platform focuses on the operational levers of power, belonging, and justice. For example, the tool evaluates how various groups within the organization experience and perceive aspects of organizational governance, strategy, information structures, and decision-making. The tool assesses not only personnel but also process and power within the organization. By identifying these fundamental components, we can directly address the structures that perpetuate inequalities, rather than just the symptoms.
