Support 50501 San Jose's Community Efforts
Donation protected
50501 San Jose is asking the community for gifts to support the expenses of holding our events and of building a secure, private software infrastructure to support growth of the 50501 San Jose community.
50501 San Jose is a purely volunteer-run organization. No funds will be used to pay organizers for their time.
Gifts to 50501 San Jose are NOT tax-deductible. 50501 San Jose is committed to transparency in fundraising and accountability in the use of gifted funds. You can see our budget for the current fundraiser here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jyk2xIpz0aRRE3yEW8ig7XXTC1cN9TAqRbj1K8FA3qc/edit?gid=0#gid=0
Generally speaking, our expenses fall into these categories:
- Equipment for protests (jackets, bullhorns, batteries, signs, etc.)
- Fliers, flags and business cards to give away at protests with safety tips and action items
- Secure private software infrastructure; LinkTree account to support social media accounts, secure email hosting, etc.)
We intend to publicly post receipts (with names elided to protect organizer privacy) so that anyone can verify that funds were used for legitimate event- and organization-related purposes.
Because unexpected expenses may arise, we are seeking gifts slightly in excess of our expected expenses for the April 5th event.
Funds not used for the April 5th event and for our messaging infrastructure buildout will be rolled over and used to support future events.
If you have questions about the budget or fundraiser, please reach out.
