Help 9-Year-Old Author Donate 1,000 Books to Kids

When 9-year-old author, Solomon Donoho, began preparing for the launch of his first book "The Legend of DJ Awesome" he became sad to realize that some children might not be able to enjoy the book. Some children couldn't even afford to have any books of their own.

DID YOU KNOW, according to the US Department of Education, up to 61 percent of low-income families do not have any books for their kids at home?

His mom suggested they gain support through a book drive and Solomon said he wanted to give away 1,000 books.

And so this awesome journey began!

Each book cost about $5 so Solomon needs to raise $5,000 dollars in order to give away the full amount. So far, through awesome supporters and local market events, Solomon has raised enough funds in the first 21 days of the book drive to give away 70 books.

Because of processing fees, we'll still need to raise about $5,000 to cover the remaining books needed.
