Support ICU workers across Idaho

Hi, my name is Becky. As an administrator for the Idaho- Adopt a Healthcare/Frontline Worker support group, I am calling on all of you to donate the amount of a cup of coffee today to ICU workers. 

Recently, the ICU beds are filling up to capacity all over Idaho. In Meridian, there’s a hospital with every COVID patient on a vent right now and the ICU is full.

Healthcare workers are beyond discouraged. This time, it’s younger people with children who could become orphans, and this time, supporters are burned out too and feeling like they aren’t making a difference with their gifts.  But you ARE. I’ve heard of many staff quitting as they just can’t survive the mental health issues they are getting after so many rounds of COVID. They haven’t even processed or healed from the first round!

I feel that there’s an immediate need to boost morale of those who aren’t in our Facebook group, and who aren’t willing to put themselves up for adoption in the main group. I’m going to “sneak attack” the ICU workers at 6 hospitals across Idaho with $5-$10 gift cards to Dutch, Starbucks, and Amazon (depending on how much we raise). I plan to include as many handwritten thank you notes as possible for this endeavor too. I have set up two P.O. Boxes to receive these.  Please do not send gift cards to these addresses- only thank you cards!

The donations will be collected by the admin of the group and proof will be posted that the gift cards and thank you notes have been purchased and have arrived at the ICU’s. I am also looking into a direct donation to the ICU departments too. I will update here if that is possible.
