Support Our Church & Repair Memorials

St Peter's is a rural church and though we are a small church our volunteers have always strived to maintain our church grounds as a quiet tranquil place.

However, in recent times a number of memorials have become unsafe and, in accordance with Health and Safety requirements and advice from Blackburn Diocese, we had to lay flat 14 memorials, understandably this caused distress to those visiting family graves.

The next of kin are responsible for returning these memorials to a safe condition and to date 5 memorials have been repaired but despite exhaustive research we have been unable to locate the families of the remaining memorials. We would love to repair these headstones but as with most small churches our finances will not allow us to undertake the necessary repairs.

St Peter's church and the families of the departed will be so grateful for any help in restoring our churchyard to be a fitting final resting place.
