Support a badly burned woman Sunset Explosion SF

In the morning of Feb 10th, Lisa’s life forever changed in the most horrific way. The explosion at 1734 22nd Ave in the Sunset district of San Francisco, which shook the whole neighborhood and shocked the city, burned Lisa’s entire body. Despite the deafening sound of an explosion and the extreme heat she felt, Lisa was still conscious enough to tell people that someone, her disabled employer, was still inside the house and needed help. She has cared for this person for many years. This trauma was most tragic and unimaginable, and we hope that the community will help Lisa recover from her serious injury of the body and no doubt, of the mind.

Lisa emigrated to San Francisco from Thailand eight years ago. She became a caregiver to support herself as well as her parents and siblings back in Thailand. Lisa is an excellent caregiver not only because she is skilled, attentive, and dedicated; but also, because she genuinely loves and cares for her employers in the most sincere and respectful way. Last year, she slipped in the early morning rainfall while waiting for the bus to go to work. She broke her kneecaps, which resulted in a surgery and a long rehabilitation. Lisa worked hard to get herself back on her feet as soon as possible, in the system that was not so fast if you don’t have a high premium insurance. As soon as she was able to walk, Lisa went back to work. The long-awaited employer welcomed her back because there wasn’t quite anyone like her when it comes to quality caregiving they trust.

For all of us that know Lisa, we are very fond of her. She is a very humble, considerate, and kind person. She never wants to bother anyone and always puts everyone’s needs above hers. We are heartbreaking to see her in this state and to yet face another trauma in her life.

With the hard earn money, Lisa has been supporting her family, including her niece’s education. Now, that money will not be there as she faces a long road to recovery. Plus, her long-time employer is no longer there. A loss so tragic to Lisa and to everyone in our San Francisco community. With the level of her injury, Lisa will have a high amount of medical bills for years to come. We hope to raise enough funds for her to cover all the medical and living expenses. Lisa is the sole beneficiary of the campaign fund.
