Support a Beautiful Service and Farewell for Silvino Silva

Dearest Family, Friends, and Loving Community,

My name is Jessica Mumui and I am starting this Go Fund me to assist in laying my father to rest. My Sister and I, as well as the rest of our family are devastated and extremely heartbroken by the untimely and unfortunate passing of our Father, Silvino "Sal" Manuel Silva. We were not notified by the coroner until 3 weeks later on July 28th. He was originally found deceased in his mobile home on July 9th in Atwater, California.

My Father was born February 2, 1963 in the Azores in Portugal, came to California in the 70’s, and was very proud of his Portuguese heritage. Silvino had a big heart and always wanted to help others when he could. He loved to get his hands dirty. He would work the fields and orchards every season, because farm work was one thing he enjoyed very much when it came to working. He always lended a helping hand at every Festa he could, and was an avid soccer fan, even playing soccer himself for a number of years as a sport and hobby. He is survived by 2 daughters, 6 sisters, 1 brother, and 5 grandchildren.

Unfortunately, our family is left with a huge financial burden, as my Father did not have any insurance to make sure funeral costs were covered, nor did he have any funds put away in case of a tragic event. This has been extremely hard on us as his children and on his siblings as a whole.

As we do the best to navigate through this difficult and dark time, we are reaching out for support to honor Silvino “Sal” Manuel Silva with a beautiful and deserving farewell. The costs of funeral and memorial services are significant, and we would be beyond grateful for any assistance you can provide to help cover towards these expenses.
