Support a Bereaved Husband with Funeral Costs

My name is Tambari and I am fundraising for a friend and brother, Abraham Sodienye, and to share with a heavy heart the unexpected passing of Souvenir Krama, the beloved wife and companion of our dear friend Abraham. It is without question that Souvenir death has left a void not only in Abraham’s life but also in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Abraham and Souvenir were a young couple, who recently married in June 2023, and by October 2023, Souvenir came to the UK to study for her MSc in Big Data Analytics at the University of Derby, before her husband, Abraham, joined her in November 2023 on a dependent visa. They both left their families and friends behind, sacrificing everything for the chance to fulfil their dreams of creating a brighter future together.

Heartbreakingly on 19th February, 2024, death suddenly took Souvenir, as she passed away without any prior illness. Abraham and some family members were present as Souvenir was gasping for breath, and immediately tried to resuscitate her while paramedics arrived at their home to initiate advanced resuscitation. Souvenir was rushed to Royal Oldham Hospital, Greater Manchester, where they placed her on life support and continued their resuscitation efforts, but despite the immediate intervention of emergency services, we lost her. Though initially the hospital and the coroner were unable to identify a cause of death, a later autopsy eventually revealed that her cause of death was a result of a blood clot in her lungs (Pulmonary embolism).

This unexpected turn of events has shattered their dreams of a bright future, and placed an unimaginable stress and financial burden on Abraham. The couple had sold all their belongings and exhausted their savings on tuition fees and living expenses; and Abraham who is presently on a dependant visa is struggling to meet the exorbitant costs of daily living expenses and now with the added cost of funeral preparations. While we can not ease Abraham’s pain or fill the unimaginable void left by Souvenir’s absence, we can come together to help alleviate some of the financial burdens accompanying such a loss, and the tragic circumstance he is enduring.

Please, let us rally around Abraham and show him that he is not alone in this. Your act of kindness will not only provide him with immediate assistance, but will also provide the feeling of community, support and love towards him that will give him the strength to carry on.
