Support A Black Queer Girl Hit By A Car

Hey everyone, My name is Mina Simone, I’m 23 y.o and I was hit by a car on Thursday night 7/9 while riding a Citi bike in NYC.
After being hit, I was in shock and running off of adrenalin, I didn’t get the driver's information to file a claim. Since the accident, doctors told me I will be in pain and out of any serious physical activity for 4-6 weeks. I have yet to receive unemployment or any pandemic assistance since COVID started. I don't have the privilege to have the financial support of my parents or family, as my mother is mentally disabled and I am her legal caretaker; and my father is older and out of work as a school bus driver. My family is facing eviction when the protections from COVID are lifted. I am in an unsafe, unstable, and uncomfortable home environment and have been trying to save money to move out as soon as possible. My father is homophobic and verbally abusive and manipulative. He has put my clothes and belongings in garbage bags and has tried to kick me out on multiple occasions and has said very nasty things to me that I am not comfortable sharing here. My mother also opened up 2 accounts in my name when she wasn’t mentally sane and put me $4,000 in debt. I am working on fighting these costs and fraud.
I am in deep need of financial assistance for medical expenses for pain treatments, physical therapy, and acupuncture as well as to put a down payment on a car to travel to and from a safe and stable place to live.
I was offered a Hemp Sustainability Internship in upstate NY - where they provide room and board, as well as future support in job placement and access to resources and opportunities. Being able to have a safe place to live for 3months would help my emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing. I am an independent filmmaker, yoga teacher, and co-founder/director of a non-profit startup catered towards the Black Community. I need a car to be able to travel to the farm and still be able to fulfill as many of my roles as I can. I just need help getting on my feet, healing, and being in a safe space to live.
