Olympia is running for Councillor in Bayside Ward 2, and she needs your help to make it happen!
Everyone!
Meet Olympia (most of you know her very very well), a proud Mascot local who's been part of your community since 1971. Her parents, Michael and Mary Lazarides, were already building up this great area when she was born, helping set up the Greek Community of Mascot Inc. and the Mascot Soccer Club. Fast forward to today, and Olympia is honoured to serve on the Executive Committee of both these local institutions.
Olympia’s roots run deep in Mascot—she’s a Mascot Public School and JJ Cahill Memorial High School alum who lives by the mottos “Strive to achieve” and “Do what is right, because it is right.” After earning her Bachelor of Social Science (Economics) from UNSW, Olympia has spent 20 years in the public service, improving lives through her work in early childhood education and aged care policy. Whether she’s writing briefings for the prime minister or grilling up sausages at L’Estrange Park, she’s all about helping people.
At home, Olympia’s the proud mum of two amazing young men—Tristan, 24, and Nathanael, 20. They’ve moved around a bit, thanks to their dad’s Army career, but Mascot has always been their safe haven. When she’s not busy helping others, Olympia and her partner, Robert, love dinning out, going to concerts, travelling and enjoying good company.
Now, here’s where you come in: Olympia is running for Councillor in Bayside Ward 2, and she needs your help to make it happen!
Joining Olympia on the ticket are two well-known and respected locals, Glen Ramos and John Araujo. Together, this team brings over 100 years of deep local roots in OUR community.
You can read more about this awesome team at our campaign website Yourlocals
They’re locals, just like us, and unlike the major parties, they don’t have the deep pockets of big donors! Even the smallest contribution will help them bridge the gap. Your support will go towards essentials like flyers, corflutes, a website, and much more. Every bit counts! Plus, you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’re backing someone who genuinely cares about this community and is ready to bring some fresh energy to our local council.
Let’s make this campaign a community effort. Mascot has given Olympia so much, and now she’s ready to give back in a bigger way. If you believe in keeping your community strong and connected, Olympia would be thrilled to have your support.
Thanks for being part of this journey!
