Support a Detroit UDL Team Go to the TOC

Hello, my name is Irshad Reza Husain. We are doing a Go-Fund Me because the high school team that I help coach for Policy Debate has earned a bid to the high school Tournament of Champions, the prestigious end-of-year championship tournament for Speech & Debate events. Given that they have an incredibly good prelim record and just got 1st seed at TOC Digital Series 3 along with a bid there, I have strong faith that they will earn an at-large bid. We will need to fundraise for the hotel - the hotel alone will cost $1500 for 2 rooms for 4 nights (one room for me and the high school teacher, one room for the 2 kids) - the other $500 will go towards bus tickets, entry fees (which are $350), and food. If we get at least $2000, we should be able to cover expenses and guarantee going. The school budget has been depleted this year.

I would like to make it clear that I, Irshad Reza Husain, will be the one paying out of pocket for this - this is why the Go-Fund me is going directly into my account, because the school has an immensely long time that it takes to actually withdraw funds from the account, and given that the TOC is 6 weeks away, it is no longer an option to put it into the school account and deal with the bureaucratic administrational hurdles.

I will be posting ALL the receipts for everything in the spirit of full transparency - rest assured that we are definitely using the funds for the TOC.
