"We want to show everyone that we can do it all, that we have it under control. But the reality is that asking for help is not a sign of weakness - it is the greatest sign of strength." - Kendra Scott
To my family, friends and the kind folk who find this:
Hi! I’m Camryn Anderson.
Most people know me as an architect, since that's all I have ever talked about since I began my quest in 2014. I dedicated my adolescence to the demanding requirements of the university admissions process and spent the last 5 years obtaining my Bachelor of Architectural Studies at the University of Waterloo. This decade has allowed me to explore the widest extents of my creativity which I am endlessly grateful for.
Since graduating, I have continued to search for more creative outlets, and recently, discovered a passion for acting and film – a controversial choice which has been difficult to vocalize. It's not easy to break from the status quo and redefine your identity without judgment. Architecture, with its precision and structure, provided a solid foundation for my artistry, but the allure of storytelling through the lens proved too irresistible to ignore. This transition requires a daring leap into the unknown, but it is fueled by my desire to create meaningful and beautiful art.
Next month, I will be directing my first silent film, ‘Ten Lords A-Leaping,’ an art-house thriller about a girl who defies the Ten Commandments. Producing this project has been a labor of love, but with the rising cost of living, financing a project by myself is immensely challenging.
The goal of $1,500 CAD will cover meals/craft service, set design, props, location rental, transportation, etc., ensuring that ‘Ten Lords A-Leaping’ unfolds as a visual feast for the senses. Anything raised after the goal is completed will go towards the distribution of the film.
Anyone who donates will receive a sponsorship credit at the end of the film. I’d like to recognize the people who believe in student-filmmakers and help make this film possible.
As I navigate this new frontier, your support becomes more than just financial assistance; it becomes an acknowledgment of the courage it takes to follow your heart. I would greatly appreciate your support in this pursuit.
Thank you.
