Support a Young Heart Patient From Canfield

I want to introduce you to Bobi Jo Bowser Piper, one of the strongest women I know. Nine years ago Bobi gave birth to Willow, a micro-premie baby at 1 pound 3 ounces. That’s sweet Willow in the photo with her Mom and Dad. Bobi took on the challenges of nursing Willow to health just as she has helped hundreds of patients in her job as a nurse over the years . She has been recognized as an outstanding nurse having been selected as the regional nurse of the year for the company she worked four, and competing as one of four finalists for national nurse of the year.

Recently, Bobi took on a new role as a patient herself. On December 17th she barely survived a massive stemi heart attack at the young age of 39. Since that time, she has had a blood clot in her heart, fluid around her heart, pericarditis and congestive heart failure. She currently has 42% of heart function, which continues to decline. At the present time she has stage 3 left ventricular chronic systolic and diastolic heart failure. All of this has made it impossible to return to her job at the present time. Bobi has not been able to work since Dec. 15th. She continues to have myriad appointments at the Cleveland Clinic and has had to have help with her household because of limited energy. Despite it all, Bobi has maintained her positive outlook.

She and her husband Greg need our help. The regular monthly bills keep coming, with huge medical bills added to the pile. Both adults are Canfield graduates, and her daughter is a second grade student at Hilltop Elementary. (Willow is the fourth generation to attend Canfield schools). Her parents are long-term Canfield residents, and Bobbi’s three siblings also grew up in Canfield.. Let’s rally around this outstanding young couple and show them that Canfield truly is a community that cares.
