Support a Loving Tribute at Woodlands Cemetery

Hello,

I am raising funds to honor my dad, John Dowlin, with a burial at the historic Woodlands Cemetery in West Philadelphia - a place that he cherished and imagined as his final resting place in the city he loved.

I have obtained funding for the cemetery plot ($3,000), the burial ($1,200), and the cremation + funeral home costs ($1,500+), and the memorial event costs ($1,100+), but I am at a loss for the final $3,000 for the headstone.

I know for a fact that my dad did not have the funds for his burial costs, nor could he have imagined the prices that all of this would entail. He probably would have said just let me flutter away in the wind.

Alas, I'm fundraising for me - I would like to visit his grave. I would like to have a headstone that bears his name. It would give me great peace, calm and connection to my dad to go sit in the Woodlands among the trees and West Philly birds - to enjoy the sunlight and remember the joy he brought to my life.
