My name is Sandy and I am from Melbourne Australia, my good friend and future doctor has reached out asking us to help him achieve his dream to finalise his studies and to help him escape the horrors that he has had to bare witness to for the last 400+ days.
Hello, my name is Mohamad Daban, and I am a medical student from Gaza. I write to you today with a broken heart, burdened by sorrow and grief. In my country, where the sounds of explosions rise and tears fill our eyes, there is no place for hope. The war has destroyed my university, the place that once represented my dreams and aspirations, and everything around me serves as a reminder of an unending tragedy.
Life in Gaza is not just a challenge; it is a daily battle for survival. Every morning, I wake up to the sounds of horror, opening my window to witness the devastation. The streets that once brimmed with laughter and hope are now desolate and empty. My friends, who were with me on this journey of learning, have lost their dreams, and many can no longer bear the weight of this harsh reality. I see exhaustion and despair in their eyes, and I feel as though I am facing the same fate.

While working in the understaffed barely functioning hospital also trying to gain some experience, I was injured and required medical attention.
My studies have become a distant dream, and I feel trapped between the ruins of my past and the pain of my present. With each passing moment, I ask myself: How can I become a doctor under these circumstances? How can I help others while living in a place that lacks the most basic necessities of life?

My dreams of becoming a brilliant doctor were destroyed along with my university, but with your help I can bring these dreams back and continue to pursue my goals of finishing my education
With your support, I hope to:
Secure Safe Passage:
Cover the costs of travel and related expenses to leave Gaza and reach a place where I can regain hope.
Cover Tuition Fees:
Ensure I can continue my studies without any financial barriers, giving me the opportunity to achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.
Support Basic Living Expenses:
Including safe housing and food, so I can focus on my studies instead of worrying about tomorrow.
Access Medical Training Resources:
Equip myself with the tools and knowledge needed to be part of the change that my country needs.
How Your support Can Make a Difference:
Your generosity can make a profound impact on my life and the lives of those I hope to help as a future doctor. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to safety and stability, and can restore my hope of achieving my dreams.
Imagine the difference you could make, not just in my life, but in the lives of those who will one day benefit from my care. Your support is not merely financial assistance; it is a light in the darkness of life, an opportunity to rebuild what the war has destroyed.
I ask you to consider supporting my journey toward safety and education. Together, we can turn pain into hope and write a new story filled with humanity. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
