Hi! My name is May and I am a Myanmar filmmaker on a mission to tell stories that need to be heard, to people that need to hear them. 

Watching the events in Myanmar unfold over the last year have shown me just how important media coverage and video documentaries are in exposing atrocities and ensuring an accurate portrayal of events are recorded in history. As the rug has been pulled out from under our feet, I see Myanmar people everywhere rise up to support each other through whatever means they can. We all hold unique skills and perspectives that can make a positive impact in our world. Storytelling is mine.

I am thrilled to have been accepted into a reputable documentary film program at San Diego State University. Unfortunately, I did not receive the scholarship I was hoping to secure for this program and am therefore lacking sufficient funds to attend the program. 
 
I’m so very close to making this dream come true! With your support in raising $10,000 (£8,000), I will be able to attend this program and pursue my passion for producing documentary films that make a meaningful impact in my country and around the world.
