Support a New Teacher and a Veteran Rebuild After a Fire
Donation protected
We were able to work with insurance to cover more of the cost! Thank you to everyone who donated! ♥️
This past July, my wife and I purchased our first house together. We got the keys Monday evening on July 1st, we were thrilled to be able to accomplish this important life milestone. The next morning we had gone out to purchase blinds for our new home when my wife got a phone call with the words “Your house is on fire!!”
We rushed out of the store and headed to our new home to see smoke covering the neighborhood and our street blocked off by fire trucks and police cars. We watched from across the street as firefighters continued to extinguish our house. After some time, the firefighters were able to put out the house before it fully burned down. The fire spread throughout the attic that forced firefighters to cut holes into the roof and then tear down the ceilings.
My wife and I need help to cover the cost to rebuild, even after help with insurance, they are still asking us to pay a large sum that we cannot currently afford. My wife is a new high school teacher and I am currently a full time student in college using my GI Bill, and also working part time with USPS.
We were so fortunate to not have been living in the house at the time of the fire, your contributions would mean so much to us and our two cats. Thank you for your time and donations. Even if you aren’t able to donate funds, please help spread our story!
