Support a newly resettled Afghan interpreter

Hello, my name is Khan*. On August 21, 2021, I arrived in the United States on a Special Immigrant Visa with my 36-week pregnant wife and four-year-old son. We received our visas the day before Kabul fell to the Taliban. After having three members of my family murdered by the Taliban and being the target of attempted assassinations, I thought the SIV was my golden ticket but the next few days, trying to leave Afghanistan under Taliban rule proved to be some of the most challenging days of my life. Thankfully, after sheer luck and perseverance, my family and I narrowly escaped Afghanistan a few days before the U.S. forces withdrew and made it near impossible for Afghans to leave the country. To read about my story, please the series of articles published about me in the Atlantic.
Since resettling in Houston, my wife and I gave birth to a precious baby girl. My four-year-old son is enrolled in pre-school. We have been warmly welcomed into the Houston community by a local veterans group, Combined Arms. I am eager to start working so I can provide for my family in the United States and for my family that I had to leave behind in Afghanistan. Please support me so I can buy a car to get a good-paying job. This will allow me to support my family in the United State and to use a portion of my salary to support my family members in Afghanistan.
Thank you for your generous support.
*Khan is my middle name. I use it to protect my safety and my family that is still in Afghanistan's safety.
