Support a Queer Provider's Surgery Fund

For those of you who may have encountered this fundraiser through other means, I'm a 39-year-old transmasculine queer healthcare provider, primarily working in traumatic brain injury assessment. My advocacy work centers education on affirmative psychological assessment techniques for trans/gender expansive patients. Outside of work, I'm a caregiver to my dad (whom I adore), occasional event organizer, cat lover, sparkly loafer enthusiast, (unimpressive) artist.

I had my first top surgery consult some 5 years ago, but academic, family, and financial demands prohibited me from moving forward. I'm really excited to be at this point now.

I have my top surgery date scheduled for 4/17, with Dr. Vyas in NYC. He is doing a double incision/reinnervation technique, and the procedure has been significantly discounted to $17,500. Currently, I don't have insurance through my job that would cover the surgery, and am time pressed to have it done ASAP (due to family needs, availability of surgeon, etc). All of the whopping cost of treatment and recovery will be out of pocket, and I'm fundraising solely for the cost of surgery.
